Kathy Colon, Office Manager, works closely with students, staff and faculty to provide assistance on CPPA daily operations and management. For over twenty years, Kathy has provided administrative assistance in a variety of office settings, including eleven years at the University of Massachusetts.

As the Center's Director, Lee Badgett provides the vision and leadership--in close collaboration with faculty, students, staff, the University and external policy-related constituents (both academic and applied)--necessary for continued growth and innovation. Lee Badgett is a professor of Economics at UMass Amherst. and is also Research Director at the Williams Institute at UCLA's School of Law.

Satu Zoller, Associate Director, oversees the administration of many aspects of the Graduate Program and serves as a student adviser. She received a Masters in Public Affairs with a concentration in economic development from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute, University of Minnesota. She previously worked in both the government and nonprofit sectors, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Minnesota Planning (a state agency), and for a community-based nonprofit organization in Cusco, Peru.

Susan Newton, Associate Director for Research, assists with planning and fundraising for CPPA and STS research initiatives. Susan also coordinates certain of the Center's many special projects and iniatives. Susan received her doctorate in sociology from Purdue University, and has worked previously in grants administration at Amherst College and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Eve Eichwald, Associate Director. Finance,Technology, and Special Projects

After working in municipal government finance and administration in positions that include the finance director of a major city and as a manager in the San Francisco Controller's office, Eve came to CPPA after lecturing in the Spring of 2008 on public budgeting. Eve has a Masters in urban planning (U of Oregon) and a post-graduate fellowship in public policy. Eve Eichwald manages CPPA's finances, and coordinates certain of the Center's initiatives and special projects. |

Michelle Sagan Goncalves, Program Manager, Science, Technology & Society Initiative and National Center for Digital Government

Michelle Sagan Goncalves manages the National Center for Digital Government and the Science, Technology and Society Initiative. Both NCDG and STS are research programs based in CPPA that explore the intersections of technology, institutions, and governance. Michelle is an alum of the MPPA program at CPPA and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Providence College. |
